The Role 

Epworth Geelong seeks a motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist (Grade 2) who has demonstrated experience in a rehabilitation setting to join our team. This role is 2 days (0.4 FTE) per week with the opportunity to increase as required. This is a maternity leave position for a duration of approximately 8 months.

This role will primarily be based in our outpatient rehabilitation setting and carry a clinical caseload comprised of (but not limited to) orthopaedics, neurology, cardiorespiratory, oncology, concussion and medical/reconditioning patients.

Outpatient services are both individual and group based sessions including arthritis, cardiac, falls and balance, oncology, pain management and Parkinson’s disease. This role also includes assisting ward based inpatient services as required.

The Allied Health department consists of a full complement of professions, including physiotherapy, social work, speech pathology, occupational therapy, dietetics, psychology, neuropsychology and exercise physiology. Together with nursing and medical teams, allied health provide coordinated care to patients in all clinical areas of Epworth Geelong.

 Key areas of focus for this role include:

• Developing and leading an exceptional patient–centred service
• Working with key stake holders to develop occupational therapy services 
• Being an active member of a multi-disciplinary team centred on excellent clinical outcomes for patients

The Role

The role of the Biomedical Engineer is to provide high quality biomedical services to all clinical wards and departments. This service includes preventive maintenance, breakdown services and front line support. This ensures equipment is optimally maintained so clinical staff have the resources required for safe and effective patient treatment – in keeping with Epworth’s purpose of Every Patient Matters.

Epworth Biomedical Engineering consists of a team of 11 dedicated engineers servicing all 9 Epworth campuses with on-site departments at Epworth Richmond, Freemasons (East Melbourne), Eastern (Box Hill) and Geelong.

The successful candidate will be initially required to work supervised under the management of the Biomed leadership team, based at the Richmond campus.

All Biomedical Engineers are required to maintain up to date and accurate asset and work details using the Technology One enterprise resource package. This information is crucial to the ongoing compliance tracking of medical equipment across the Epworth group.

Once trained and competent, the successful applicant will be required to participate in an after-hours on-call roster, servicing all campuses. The on-call engineer is responsible for responding to urgent breakdowns and emergencies outside business hours.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), who is passionate about supporting and leading a team to provide a positive patient experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership support to the Nurse Unit Manager within this dedicated speciality ward to achieve unit objectives.

This position is a maternity leave cover for a period of 12 months expected to commence in April 2020 and currently finishing April 2021. During this time the ANUM would need to be available to work all shifts (Monday – Sunday) including rotation onto night shifts.

4 Lee Wing is a 39 bed Neuroscience unit which encompasses management of patients with both neurosurgical and neurological conditions. Such conditions may include spinal surgery and craniotomies, and complex neurology such as stroke, Parkinson Disease and Multiple Sclerosis.

Critical Care Nursing at Epworth

The Role

In this permanent role, based at either Richmond, Eastern (Box Hill) or Geelong (Waurn Ponds) you will be predominately responsible for accurately coding medical records in accordance with the Australian Coding Standards. The Role 

Epworth Geelong, under the auspices of Pain Matrix, are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 2^nd year Pain Medicine Advanced Trainee to commence 3^rd August 2020.

This full-time role (43 hours/week including five hours training time) will be for six months and is accredited as level 1 core training in Pain Medicine.

This position is located within Pain Matrix Geelong, a fully comprehensive and innovative private pain management private practice. The trainee will provide, or assist with, appropriate pain management in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The position is designed for trainees in their practice development year who wish to preform procedures in the setting of a Multidisciplinary practice. It will offer a great opportunity to build on Clinical, Interventional and Multidisciplinary program skills. The Specialist Trainee will work alongside leading Specialist Pain Medicine Physicians that perform intervention. You will be mentored in safe and appropriate use of interventional pain procedures and patient selection.

At the completion of the rotation we require the specialist trainee to obtain competencies in the areas below to the level expected of a trainee at his/her current stage of training:

• Patient Care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health

Clinical Management

Understand relevant principles, apply knowledge in practice, and to demonstrate abilities in the clinical management of patients with acute and chronic pain. These include the following:

The Role 

An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative Registered Nurses interested in pursuing a clinical leadership opportunity to join our team as an Intensive Care Unit Liaison Nurse.

In this senior role you will act as a clinical resource for Ward Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff involved in the management of patients with complex care needs. 

Being outcome focused and thriving on a challenge, you will foster inter-departmental relationships, and support and educate our clinical teams in the delivery of exceptional care to patients at high risk of deterioration throughout their inpatient journey.

Annual base salary range for full time (38 hours a week): Registered Nurse (depending on year level) – AUD $61,360 pa to AUD $82,837 pa. Pro rata is paid for part time.

 Key responsibilities of the position include:

• Act in the capacity of role model, mentor, and resource to support our clinical teams in managing patient deterioration
• Provide clinical expertise to staff, ensuring that a high standard of contemporary clinical practice is maintained
• Establish an Intensive Care outreach service to ensure a seamless patient journey between the Intensive Care Unit and the inpatient wards
• Participate in clinical audit data collections to enable identification of strategies to improve patient outcomes
• Encouraging and role-modelling empathy to patients, families and the medical team 

Skills & Experience

The successful candidates will possess:

• Current AHPRA registration and relevant Post Graduate qualifications
• Previous management experience in an Intensive Care Unit environment
• Have a contemporary knowledge of best practice nursing care and the patient journey
• Be highly accountable to your patients and their families
• Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
• Demonstrate critical thinking and a collaborative approach

• Have vast experience in the Emergency Department setting

• Have a current nursing registration with AHPRA

• Be passionate about making a difference to the patient and their families
• Be committed to ensuring a high level of patient care and positive patient outcomes
