The Role
Epworth Health Information Services is seeking an enthusiastic and vibrant HIM to join our team as the HIS Clerical Operations Manager, Richmond and Freemasons.
In this newly created role, you will be responsible for the effective management of the clerical operations of our Health Information Services team. This includes the scanning workflow at both Epworth Richmond and Freemasons, as well as coordination of acute medical record forms across all 8 Epworth sites and attendance at the Epworth Clinical Practice Committee.
The successful applicant will be self-directed, have initiative, excellent problem solving and organisational skills. They will be an active and courteous member of the HIS leadership team with sound management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Staff management and leadership of HIS Clerical staff at Richmond and Freemasons
- Recruitment, coordination and training of HIS Clerical staff
- Management of acute medical record forms across all Epworth sites including creation of new forms and revision of existing forms
- To liaise with the BOSSnet DMR Development Manager and other HIS Site Managers regarding the digital medical record
- Management of departmental budget to ensure department runs an annual surplus in conjunction with other HIS Managers
- Planning and participation in Quality activities to facilitate Accreditation requirements at both departmental and organisational level
- Provision of training and liaison with Unit Receptionists, Patient Administration Staff, Allied Health Staff, and Clinical Staff in HIS/Organisational expectations, practices and processes
- Oversee archiving requirements of clinical documents and provide advice to departments on correct practices
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Extensive experience working as a Health Information Manager
- Bachelor Health Information Management or equivalent
- Eligible for HIMAA membership
Desirable:
- Previous staff management experience
- Experience working with a digital medical record
