About Rehabilitation and Mental Health

Epworth’s Rehabilitation and Mental Health services are some of the most progressive of their kind in Australia. Our clinical approach involves individualised treatment and collaborative team decision-making to achieve outstanding outcomes for patients.

A multi-tiered approach to your support sees you have access to ward-based Educators, Preceptors and Clinical Specialists who will be available to answer your questions and guide your clinical practice.  

 

The Program 

Joining our 2023 Mental Health Graduate Support Program with Epworth Clinic, you will be welcomed into an environment that cares for its people and given an opportunity for you to start and grow your career. 

You will experience:

  • Rotations across 2 mental health units
  • Support from a designated mental health educator, preceptors, and clinical specialists
  • 6 structured mental health development days
  • Completion of the Transition to Specialty Practice - Mental Health that provides credit to post graduate studies in mental health

 

You will develop a sense of belonging and begin your transition into becoming a confident and competent Mental Health Registered Nurse. At the end of your program, you may be offered the opportunity to join us on a permanent basis as we strongly believe that Graduates are our future workforce.

What you need

To be eligible for our graduate program, you will need:

  • Be on-track to successfully complete your 2022 nursing degree (Bachelors or Masters)
  • Anticipate being granted AHPRA registration prior to program commencement date
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency; New Zealand Citizenship OR anticipate having a working visa with rights to work in Australia on a part-time contract
  • Please note Epworth HealthCare is NOT part of the PMCV match process. If you are successful with an offer in the Graduate Support Program, you will be expected to withdraw from PMCV match process and provide evidence
