Position Summary
  • Key hospital Executive Leadership position
  • Contribute to the ongoing success of a leading Victorian not-for-profit healthcare 
  • Collaborative relationships with nearby public hospital, TAFE & local community 
The Role 
In this three year fixed-term, part-time role, based at Epworth Eastern in Box Hill, you will work within our clinical governance framework and provide strategic clinical leadership and expertise to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and evidence-based patient care.  Ultimately responsible to the Executive General Manager, Epworth Eastern for strategic and operational accountabilities, you will also be responsible to the Chief Medical Officer for clinical governance and professional accountability.
 
You will make an impact by:
  • Ensuring effective governance and compliance with legal and regulatory obligations 
  • Providing medical leadership and input to operational matters, service enhancements, quality programs and business development initiatives 
  • Overseeing employed medical staff in the hospital 
  • Being a key participant in the response to and management of clinical incidents 
  • Representing Epworth Eastern on internal and external committees 
  • Contributing to the appointment and credentialing process for VMOs and the recruitment and retention of specialists
  • Role modelling and championing the organisational values & behaviours

You will have
  • Current Medical registration with AHPRA
  • Previous medical leadership experience within a tertiary hospital 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian healthcare models of care 
  • Understanding of contemporary clinical practice in a broad range of specialties
  • RACMA Associate Fellowship with progress toward Fellowship (highly desirable)

Located in Box Hill, Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility and includes an 8 bed ICU, 10 bed HDU/CCU and 10 theatres.  Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic and general surgery to oncology, urology and endoscopy services.  From consultation and detection through to surgery, Epworth Eastern aims to work with patients and their families to ensure they have the best experience possible.
