The Role
We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated and dedicated Health Information Managers/Clinical Coders to join our expanding Coding and Casemix team, based at Epworth Geelong, Richmond or Eastern.
This is a full time position however, part time opportunities may be avaliable.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Coding from a scanned medical record
- Accurately code, index and group episodes using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and the Australian Coding Standards utilising 3M Codefinder software
- Ensuring all records are coded within specified time frames
- Participation in quality and education activities including internal coding audit processes
- Attending and actively participating at coding meetings and education sessions.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Health Information Management or equivalent clinical coding qualification
- Extensive experience in coding specialities such as Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Interventional Cardiology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Oncology, Obstetrics and Rehabilitation.
- A dedication for achieving high quality coded data, maintain compliance with reporting requirements
- Demonstrated a commitment to continued service improvement and have an ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- A willingness to participate in Epworth HealthCare’s Coding Induction Program tailored to your experience level
- Previous experience in either the public or private health sector as well as experience with private sector funding models would be advantageous.
