Position Summary

An opportunity exists for an experienced healthcare professional to join Epworth Healthcare’s Health Contracts team. The Health Contracts team is responsible for negotiating and managing contracts with Australia’s private health insurers on behalf of the entire Epworth group.
The Casemix and Healthfund Administrator will be a key member of the team, being required to work day to day with the Contracts Manager and the Casemix Analyst on many elements of health fund matters, including analysis of payments, refunds and negotiation support.
You will be required to:
- Manage health fund claims audits, refund requests and other payment related queries
- Support the Health Contracts team in providing analysis to support contract negotiations
- Liaise with the Health Information, Billing and Credit departments to maximise revenue and minimise refunds for Epworth HealthCare
- Identify, analyse and facilitate improvements to business processes and workflows relating to health fund contracting and payments/refunds
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Qualification/s
- Diploma or university degree in the field of health administration, health information management, nursing or other health-related discipline
Previous Experience
- Experience in private/public hospitals and healthcare funding systems (essential)
- Three years post-graduate experience working with health related data such as clinical coding data, MBS numbers and medical record information (desired)
- Ability to analyse medical data and interpret in the context on contractual arrangements
- Ability to exercise judgement and take action on it
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competence and skill using Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
