The Role
The Epworth Health Information Services (HIS) is seeking an enthusiastic Health Information Manager to join our team at our Camberwell campus.
You will be responsible for the daily monitoring and management of the HIS scanning clerks and workflow ensuring service KPIs and budget are met. This position is also responsible for the management of Medical Record Forms across all Epworth sites. This involves both creating new and revising existing forms and being an active member of the Health Records Documentation Committee.
The position is currently 24 hours per week, with the option to work this over 3 to 5 days.
Responsibilities:
- Staff management and leadership
- Management of medical record forms including creation of new forms and revision of existing forms.
- To liaise with the BOSSnet DMR Development Manager and other HIS Site Managers regarding scanned medical record and form implementation, design, format and future proofing
- Management of departmental budget to ensure department runs an annual surplus
- Running daily scanning and labour hours reports and dissemination of results to relevant staff
- Planning and participation in Quality activities to facilitate Accreditation requirements at both departmental and organizational level
- Provision of training and liaison with Unit Receptionists, Patient Administration Staff, Allied Health Staff, and Clinical Staff in HIS/organisational expectations, practices and processes
- Ensuring Camberwell HIS department aligns with all Epworth HIS departments in service planning and delivery
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will be self-directed, have initiative and problem solving ability, and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
Essential:
- Extensive (eg,three years) experience working in Health Information Services
- One year of management and or leadership experience
- Bachelor Health Information Management (or equivalent)
- Eligible for HIMAA membership
