The program

Joining our 2023 Graduate Support Program, you will be welcomed into an environment that cares for its people. Through your first 12-months of joining Epworth HealthCare you will develop a sense of belonging and begin your transition into becoming a confident and competent Registered Nurse.

Your program offers a part-time rotating roster with the flexibility to complete rotations in acute, subacute and specialty areas. You will have access to our purpose-built, well-equipped Simulation and Clinical Education Precinct across our sites.

A multi-tiered approach to your support sees you have access to a group manager of early years programs, ward-based Educators, Preceptors and Clinical Specialists who will be available to answer your questions and guide your clinical practice.

The locations

The Graduate Support Program for Registered Nurses is offered across seven (7) hospital locations (let us know in the application process which location or locations you are applying to)

Epworth Geelong

  • Feb and July intakes
  • Located in Waurn Ponds, adjacent to Deakin University
  • Choice of different rotation opportunities include medical oncology, orthopaedics & chronic pain, rehabilitation, general surgery incl neurosurgery, neurology and cardiac, day surgery, emergency, & renal dialysis
  • Onsite discounted parking

Epworth Richmond

  • Feb, March and July intakes
  • Located on Bridge Road, Richmond, close to the CBD
  • Rotations across multiple specialties in acute and sub-acute units
  • Choice of different rotation specialties including orthopaedic, general/colorectal, cardiothoracic/cardiac, neurosurgery/neurology, emergency, paediatrics, general medical, oncology, sub-acute rehabilitation including acquired/traumatic brain injury, ENT, oral maxillofacial, plastics, urology, day surgery, dialysis, & vascular 

Epworth Freemasons

  • Feb and July intakes
  • Located in East Melbourne, across two campuses – Albert Street and Victoria Parade. Both close to the CBD and public transport
  • Newly redeveloped with the addition of extra patient beds, theatres, and a day oncology unit
  • Choice of different rotation specialties including general surgical, gynaecology, urology, ENT, maxillofacial, orthopaedics, theatre, paediatrics, plastics, general medical, oncology & haematology

Epworth Eastern

  • Feb and May intakes
  • Located in Box Hill – close to public transport and onsite discounted parking
  • Newly expanded and redeveloped wards and theatres 
  • Choice of different rotation specialties including general surgical, gynaecology, neurology, cardiothoracic/cardiac, urology, ENT, maxillofacial, orthopaedics, endoscopy, DOSA, plastics, general medical & oncology

Epworth Brighton  

  • Feb and July intakes
  • Located in Brighton, close to public transport
  • Inpatient and outpatient sub-acute rehabilitation 
  • Caring for patients with a variety of rehabilitation needs including orthopaedic, neurology, respiratory, cardiac, oncology & chronic medical conditions 

Epworth Camberwell

  • Feb and July intakes
  • Located in Camberwell, close to public transport
  • Inpatient and outpatient sub-acute rehabilitation 
  • Caring for patients with a variety of rehabilitation needs including orthopaedic, neurology, respiratory, cardiac, oncology & chronic medical conditions 

Epworth Hawthorn

  • Feb and July intakes
  • Located in Hawthorn, close to public transport and CBD
  • Inpatient and outpatient sub-acute rehabilitation 
  • Providing rehabilitation for patients recovering from traumatic road or workplace accidents with multi-trauma orthopaedic injuries & amputee rehabilitation

What you need

To be eligible for our graduate program, you will need:

  • Be on-track to successfully complete your 2022 nursing degree (Bachelors or Masters)
  • Anticipate being granted AHPRA registration prior to program commencement date
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency; New Zealand Citizenship OR anticipate having a working visa with unrestricted rights to work in Australia on a part-time contract
