Position Summary
  • Recruiting graduate Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives 
  • Part-time and full-time positions (minimum 0.8EFT) 
  • Eight hospital sites across Melbourne and Geelong – multi-site rotation opportunities 
  • Four core 12-month programs: general, peri-operative, mental health and maternity

Graduate Support Program

Joining our 2024 Graduate Support Program, you will be welcomed into an environment that cares for its people. Through your first 12-months of joining Epworth HealthCare you will develop a sense of belonging and begin your transition into becoming a confident and competent nurse or midwife.  

A multi-tiered approach to your support sees you have access to dedicated graduate support team, ward-based educators, preceptors and clinical specialists who will be available to answer your questions and guide your clinical practice. This diverse support team works closely with the Group Manager of Early Years Programs to ensure your program is well designed and meets the needs of today’s graduate nurse or midwife

General Nurse Graduate Support Program  

Your program offers a part-time rotating roster with the flexibility to complete rotations in acute, subacute and specialty areas. 

This is offered across our eight locations Brighton, Camberwell, Eastern (Box Hill), Freemasons (two hospitals in East Melbourne), Geelong, Hawthorn and Richmond. 

February/March and July intakes.

Peri-operative Nurse Graduate Support Program  

Your program offers a part-time or full-time rotating roster with the flexibility to complete rotations in scrub scout, anaesthetics and/or Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU). 

This is offered across our five locations Eastern (Box Hill), Freemasons (two hospitals in East Melbourne), Geelong and Richmond. 

February and July intakes.

Mental Health Nurse Graduate Support Program

Your mental health program offers a part-time rotating roster across two mental health units and upon successful completion you will receive one credit point towards post graduate studies.  

This is offered at our Epworth Clinic in Camberwell.

Registered Midwife or Registered Midwife/Nurse Graduate Support Program

Your midwifery program offers a part-time rotating roster with the flexibility to complete rotations in post-natal, birthing suite and special care nursery. Registered Nurse/Midwives have the option to complete an additional six month rotation through acute nursing. 

This is offered at our Epworth Freemasons, Victoria Parade location (East Melbourne).

What you need 

To be eligible for our Graduate Support Program, you will need: 

  • To be on track to successfully complete your degree by the start of your program (Bachelor or Masters) 
  • To anticipate being granted AHPRA registration by the commencement date of your program 
  • An Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency; New Zealand Citizenship OR anticipate having a working visa with unrestricted rights to work in Australia on a part-time contract
