Epworth HealthCare is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and dedicated Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder to join our expanding Coding Operations Team at Epworth HealthCare in the position of Coding Educator, based at Epworth Richmond or Epworth Geelong.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Australian Coding Standards as well as National and State published coding advice, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and display leadership qualities.

In this position you will be supported by the Coding Coordinator  and will work collaboratively with the existing Coding Educators and HIS Coding Auditors. 

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provision of coding education, support and training to all Health Information Managers (HIMs)/Clinical Coders across Epworth HealthCare.
  • Assist in planning and participation in Coding Quality Improvement activities
  • Prepare and present coding related educational material across Epworth HealthCare 

To be successful for this role you will have:

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent
  • Excellent classification and casemix funding knowledge with extensive coding experience in a tertiary level hospital
  • Highly developed time management, prioritisation and communication skills

 Previous education experience is desirable.
