  • Individually tailored programs to meet your education needs
  • 3 locations to choose from – Freemasons, Richmond or Geelong

 

The Program 
Joining our 2022 Specialty Perioperative Graduate Program, you will be welcomed into an environment that cares for its people. Having the opportunity to spend your entire graduate program in the Theatre environment, you will cement your learnings, develop a sense of belonging and begin your transition to become a confident and competent Perioperative Nurse. 

 

A multi-tiered approach to your support, you will have access to a designated onsite Graduate Coordinator, Educators, Preceptors and Clinical Specialists to guide you through your program.

The Locations
The Specialty Perioperative Nurse Program is offered at three (3) hospital locations (let us know in the application process which location or locations you are applying to)

 

Epworth Freemasons 

  • Located in East Melbourne – close to Fitzroy Gardens, the CBD and public transport
  • 12 operating theatres co-located with Day of Surgery Admissions centre and a Short Stay Unit
  • All activities supported by a 24-hour ICU
  • Be exposed to various surgeries including paediatrics; general surgical; gynaecology; urology; ENT; maxillofacial; orthopaedics; endoscopy and plastics
  • 12-month program with an intake in February 2022
  • Part-time roster across 3 days / week

 

Epworth Richmond

  • Located on Bridge Road, Richmond, close to the CBD
  • 28 operating theatres and supported by a 24-hour ICU
  • Be exposed to various surgeries including orthopaedic; general/colorectal; cardiothoracic; neurosurgical; endoscopy; ENT; ophthalmology; oral maxillofacial; plastics; urology & vascular procedures
  • Access to experience robotic surgeries using Da Vinci and MAKO robots
  • 12 or 18-month program with intakes in February and July 2022
  • Full time roster across 4 days / week

 

Epworth Geelong

  • Located in Waurn Ponds, adjacent to Deakin University
  • 8 operating theatres, 2 endoscopy rooms and DOSA purpose built & co-located with CSSD and ICU support
  • Exposure to various surgeries including neurosurgical, orthopaedic; general/colorectal; ENT; ophthalmology; oral maxillofacial; plastics; urology & vascular procedures
  • Opportunity to develop experience in robotic surgeries using the Da Vinci robot
  • 12-month program with an intake in February 2022
  • Part time roster across 3 days/week

 

What you need
To be eligible for our graduate program, you will need:

  • Be on-track to successfully complete your 2021 nursing degree (Bachelors or Masters)
  • Anticipate being granted AHPRA registration
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency; OR New Zealand Citizenship
